Costco jobs are so desirable, in part, because Costco has long had a reputation as having an excellent benefits package for employees, both full time and part time. The company likes to show comparisons between it and its largest competitor, Wal-mart. Some of the categories of benefits that show a clear advantage for employment at Costco are 82% of Costco employees are covered by company health insurance compared to 48% of Wal-mart employees that are covered by company health insurance. The insurance enrollment waiting period for part time workers at Cosco is 6 months and at Wal-mart it is 2 years. The portion of health-care premiums paid by Costco is 92% and at Wal-mart it is 66%. The annual worker turnover rate at Costco is 24% and at Wal-mart it is 50%.
Each Costco store takes applications for full and part-time positions for baker, butcher, café assistant, cashier, cake decorator, packer, stocker, fork lift driver, optical dispenser, tire fitter, maintenance, photo technician, customer services and wrapper.
In addition to Costco store/warehouse jobs, the company offers career positions in accounting, buying, graphic arts, journalism, information systems, human resources, and law among others.
One thing to expect when applying for employment at Costco or any other large corporation is that the job seeker must follow a detailed and exact process when applying for a job. You should expect to have to complete all of the steps of filling out a detailed application, an interview with store management, and an internal company review before you will be notified of a hiring decision.

Question by I Had 32 Characters To Work With: Does anyone understand my situation? Is there hope?
So like last night I had six friends over for dinner. Everyting was going fine until I served the appetizers. Apparently my guests were dismayed that I served a vegetable platter which I had purchased at Costco. Maybe it was the plastic serving tray or the store-bought dip that turned them off. Anyway, things continued to slide downhill from there. I offered some chilled Ernest & Julio Gallo wine in a Tetra-Pak box with spout…that seemed to dismay my guests as well. For the main course I served a macaroni & cheese casserole topped with hot dog bits with a side of wonder bread topped with a mayo-anchovie spread I picked up at Safeway. My guests were getting woozy. Finally I served a desert I found at Albertson’s…a wonderful green jello with carrot shreds and mini marshmallows.
Sadly my guests nibbled a bit and whispered amongst themselves as I cleared the card table of the paper plates and plastic forks.
Have I become a straight fellow? OMG I’ve always been gay!
